Work schedule: Assistant Maritime Search and Rescue Coordinators work on a rotating shift schedule to maintain 24/7 service.

Qualifications candidates must have for an Assistant Maritime Search and Rescue Coordinator, GT-04 (essential)
- A secondary school diploma or employer-approved alternatives.

Experience in at least one of the following:
- Experience in the maritime industry
- Experience as a First Responder (police, fire fighting, ambulance, 911/Public Safety Answering Point call taker, dispatch, Joint Rescue Coordination Centre/Maritime Rescue Sub-Centre)
- Experience in a public-facing service delivery
- Knowledge of marine operations
- Ability to communicate effectively orally
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing
- Demonstrating integrity and respect
- Working effectively with others
- Showing initiative and being action-oriented

Asset qualifications for an Assistant Maritime Search and Rescue Coordinator
- Experience in Search and Rescue delivery in Canada (i.e. as part of the Canadian Coast Guard (CCG) inshore rescue boat program, officer or crew aboard a CCG ship, member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary)
- Experience within the CCG Search and Rescue Program
- Experience liaising with external public and private partner organizations
- Experience operating vessels
- Knowledge of the Canadian Coast Guard and its programs

Conditions of Employment
- Obtain and maintain a valid secret security clearance
- Willingness and ability to work on a rotating shift schedule is used to maintain 24/7 service
- Willingness and ability to work overtime
- Willingness and ability to wear and maintain a uniform per CCG standards
- Completion of centre-specific On-The-Job Training program and course load within one (1) year, and undertake periodic reassessment
